You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
On my 26” Santa Cruz I’ve got vertical drop outs but the wheel became loose the other day. Probably my fault for not tightening the quick release up but it got me thinking about an old tandem we had years ago that had these sort of locking parts that fitted on the end of the frame.
Anyone got a clue what they are called and if you can still get them ?
Tug nuts? I've one on my singlespeed.
Scratch that - they are for horizontal drop-outs
Tug nuts are for track ends.
OP no idea
Oh, stupid me ! I MEANT horizontal drop outs !!
Thanks Whitstone. Tug nuts. Brilliant, result.
Crikey! Two wrongs do make a right 👍 I got mine from CTBM now just Bikemonger. https://www.bikemonger.co.uk/chain-tensioners-209-c.asp

Two wrongs are still wrong.
Trackend =\= Horizontal drop out.
The former is what you have. The latter you find on old bikes and the wheel drops out forwards.
This has got to be the best bike forum around. Whatever question I ask, worded wrong or not, there is always someone who can help. Thank you so much for getting back to me guys. You’re brilliant 👍
