I was wondering if anyone had come across any automate vertical bike storage solutions similar to the Parkis system?

Not vertical like that, but we have these around the train station in town. Works on a gas-strut I think so very little effort needed to raise and lower bike to/from the upper level.

I know the type you mean, I was hoping for something compact like this,
