Hi

I would like to pick the collective knowledge for knowledge of Verbier. We are going in a couple of weeks and are looking for recommendations of particular trails that we shouldn't miss. We are taking trail/enduro bikes and dont mind doing some climbing to access trails.

So what would people recommend?

Thanks

Chris

No.11

One of the best trails I’ve ever ridden.

Vertigo, Vallon Darby, tobogan, nuthouse, double exposure, church and gladiator to name a few.
You might have to do a fair bit of pedaling to get to some of them though.

'The Ultimate' has a nice hike-a-bike to get to the top 😀

there have been some really in-depth trail shearing threads for Verbier in the last year, have a google.

The image from kayak23's video looks familiar too 👌

Don't remember than name of many of the trails i did, but you MUST go ride Vertigo if you can. Check out the above video, from 8mins in. Thats most of it there. Steep, switchbacky, rocky, ballsy fun.

lucky enough to have been the once, I cant remember any of the trail names but certainly do remember accidently hitting the (I think it was the) world downhill course 1/2 way down a run.

Utterly crapped myself when I realised I was in way over my skill level.
A semi controlled unscheduled dismount saved me from certain doom 😀

Yeah, it's much steeper in person too.......
I think i'm pretty good at riding steep tech, and i've not managed in 3 times doing it, to stay upright and ride all the way down. Get practicing those Swiss turns, as Ludo demonstrates nicely in that clip.

It's a flipping amazing trail tho. Ride, or fall down it.

It's only the section where they stop and Matt has a look first that's really difficult.
The rests just really good fun.

I didn't pay good money to push my bike up a hill. I expected Sherpas to do it for me 🙂

TBF it was well worth it once I'd stopped crying.

Just back from Verbier. Steep learning curve for me as I’ve hardly been on the MTB this year. We were there during the heatwave...39C in the valley was pretty hard work. Did Vertigo on first day and found it....err...fairly challenging. Loved the long ride from the Emosson dam, just an amazing journey, with an epic finish...nasty climb up to it though. Ultimate was great...hike up was short but sharp.

Just stumbled across this map, while confirming that Vertigo (La Chaux - Lourtier) is the one I was thinking of. It was. Like Stu says, it's not hard. Jackass (Chateau - Cries) is hard.

By the way, I would heartily recommend staying with Bike Verbier if you get the chance. Phil and Lucy are lovely, great advice and really helpful. Massive thumbs up from me!

It is awesome. I was there with Mrs G last year, in September. I would like to recommend Pure Biking Verbier, if you need a guide.

We had Jose (colleague/friend of Ludo May, in the above video with Matt Jones). Pure Biking Verbier MTB Guides

The blue was a lot of fun, but PM me if you would like and I can share Strava trails of where I rode.
