I have a Velocity Comp wheelset I bought in 2014, but didn't use till late 2015. Freehub gave up the ghost on a ride last week as I was grunting up a hill, which is annoying considering it's done less than 5000 miles and been cleaned regularly and maintained as required. Failure was that it just started spinning and making a horrible noise. The bearings are still all OK.

On taking it apart, the grease is all quite clean, but the pawls look quite worn and there are a few metal slivers which look like they could be from the tips of the pawls. (its the kind os design where 6 pawls/springs sit inside the hub and cassette body has teeth like this one: http://store.velocityusa.com/p/cassette-body-atb-lightweight-disc-hub-shimano-11/hubs_parts_cassette-bodies?pp=12 )

The teeth on the cassette body look OK, so I think that new pawls should sort me out. However even if I do get a cassette body, I'm not clear pawls would come with it anyway so I'd still need those. Anyone know where I could find a supplier of pawls? Foe what it's worth, I cannot find a Velocity distributor in the UK who handles anything other than rims.

there are no identifying numbers on the cassette body, but the hub is stamped 1425-YUSR-16. I cannot find anything about that on the internet.

For any Velocity wheelset owners out there, I raised a query via their website and Sam at Singular who had supplied the wheels also dropped them a lot before. Velocity came back to me within a few hours with offer to send replacement pawls 🙂 Hopefully be rolling again soon! Great service from Singular and Velocity
