I've just ordered some 35mm carbon tubeless rims and am trying to find a solution to extending the valve whilst maintaining the option of adding more sealant if and when needed. It'll mean the valve core would have to be removable.
Has anyone got any tips or is currently running a similar setup?
Any info would be helpful.
Cheers!
Why do you want to extend the valve?
I have 55mm deep tubeless wheels and am assuming when the time comes, I just unscrew the valve core and add more sealant, no?
Just buy some longer valves.
extenders aren't as good as "long valves" IME - there's an inevitable narrowing where the join is and that's a bit of a focus for sealant to gather and partially block it. Superstar extra long ones are good in up to 45mm rims so would easily work OK for your 35s
What valves do you have in your 55s tomo ?
Not sure to be honest. They came pre-fitted to my Hunt 55's. Might be worth an email to them, as they've been quite helpful.
Here we go, I assume its these Hunt 70mm tubeless valves
Ah, yeah, thanks tomo.
I see silca do some even longer but not sure they sell in the UK
Orange seal do a choice of longer tubless valves , any shop with a extra account can get them
