I am new to this disc pad thing and £ 18 at Halfords seems a bit steep for 2 postage size stamps of shimano own make. Any suggestions for sintered pads, or are Clark's at £ 4.99 any good ?

Disco brakes sintered pads are excellent and reliable for the money.

I pretty much use superstar ones all the time now.
I've used clarks in the past and they're ok too.

I have Superstar pads in my Shimano brakes - they work very well 😀

Avoid the Clarks ones. Used them in the past and they weren't very good.

Wiggle do the lifeline ones? They're cheap.

Clarks are ace, I know of a couple of pretty high level EWS riders that use the organics.

Had Clarks a few times and never really inspired me. My mistake maybe.
