Does anyone do this? I’ve got a garage full of MTBs and figure I could just order a trainer that uses the cassette rather than the wheel and I’d be set during the lockdown.
Any reason why not?

Right, never thought I'd ask, but needs must!.
Cheap Bikehut trainer on way for the wife, what do I need to use zwift with it, or any other of these type of things? some kind of ant+ dongle and a cadence/power meter?
Thanks, looks like it’s a go then.
I’m sure this must get asked all the time, but what direct drive trainer do you recommend?
I use an old 26" MTB on my Tacx Vortex. It made a hell of a racket until the knobs on the rear tyre wore down.
It's fine now though
weeksy, are you trying to build a real tron bike with the blue tyre ?
(I could send you an orange one for the front)
LOL no, it's just a TACX 700x32 turbo tyre for quietness.. I don't use that one when outside 🙂

What device are you going to run Zwift on?
You definitely need ANT+ for a laptop but Bluetooth works fine if you use an iPad.
Android support is a bit patchier but it is now supported on some tablets
