Not a ton of time, but it's not been used since last September sadly for one reason or another. Bike is well maintained and kept clean in a dry garage, but is there likely to be anything troublesome with suspension/fluids having sat for so long? Neither fork or shock are air units fwiw but are looked after. It it worth putting the bike upside down for any period to lube upper seals or suchlike? Or is that really an old wives tale.. ? it's the first period in several years I've been off for so long, and apart from air in the tyres and a quick once over, do I need to be cautious about the suspension mechanics in any way? Just curious!
It'll be in the same state as many new bikes in shops then....
right...
Give it a lube, spin it through the gears and off you go
I haven't ridden mine since July. I'll just pump the tyres up and lube the chain when I next fancy a mtb ride.
My MTB was parked up in the garage from June 2017 until last month, full sus Giant Anthem.
I just tipped it upside down for a couple of days to let the oil lube the fork seals,I don't know if its a myth to do that but I did it anyway.
Took it for a spin around Rivi, everything worked as it should, the only real difference was brake squeal the first few times I used them.
You will want new sealant in the tyres if running tubeless, my rear brake is always squealy when left for a while.
so, is there anything in the theory of putting a bike upside down for a while to lube the upper seals etc? the fork is a 888 CR fwiw. Any suspension 'gurus' out there care to comment?

I would say theoretically yes, but it didn't seem to make a difference to GF's new bike (it was stored by front wheel, forks should've oiled themselves thusly, but when pulled apart the foam rings were dry but the bottom of the lowers had oil in.).
If you want to be sure just give the forks and maybe shock a quick service. If not ride them and see how smooth they feel/service if even a bit notchy.
