Hub internals all being replaced which leaves me with a brand new rear deore hub shell (cheapest option was to buy the whole shell).
So, what inventive uses have got for a hub shell? I'm reasonably DIY competent, but don't have a lathe so extreme remodelling is out of the question.

I did this to a Campy hub shell. But I had use of a lathe.

Candle holder looks like a winner! Assuming the aesthetics pass "the test".
