Hi all,
Just getting into mountain biking - noticing there are several different chain guards... I was wondering if someone knew a place/website that sells bespoke designs for chain guards? I'd like to get one which is of a US Flag design... stars and stripes. Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers
Where are you going to ride it?
Wouldn't want stars and stripes on my bike anywhere outside of US for fear of being attacked. Not that I'd want it at all as a Brit but anyway.

Do you read the Daily Mail?
Far from it. Personally I just don't do patriotism.
I'm American, and I can't say that I've ever seen anything like that. I'd just buy a bashguard that has a lot of flat, open areas on it. Then get some decals printed to do what you want.
Fear of being attacked? Crikey.
No-one's ever mentioned the US flags on my Cannondale.
Gamut have always done custom flag guards for their sponsored riders, greg minaar always sports a SA flag one and Aaron Gwinn had a stars and bars Gamut when he was busy winning everything on Trek.
Maybe worth dropping them a line? Long shot but they may have a spare Gwinn one floating about.
Hi - ok I think I'm looking for a bash guard (a felt/neoprine thingy that protects the chain from hitting the frame, right under the chain)
Any suggestions appreciated
That be a chainstay protector, which is something entirely different. No idea where/if you'll get one of those. Why not just get a decal and put it over a 'normal' one though?
I've never seen a chainstay protecter like the OP wants.
Most of those chainstay protectors are made out of neoprene or similar with velcro to put it on. I'd just buy one (red or blue maybe) and go to a place that does custom embroidery on shirts and stuff and have them put a design on it.
Chainstay protectors probably aren't as common as they once were because clutch rear derailleurs practically eliminate chain slap for most people.
Sounds like the kind of tat you usually find in dealextreme's bike section.
