Hi guys

The Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are running a consultation on the "Lower Wye Valley Tracks & Trails":
https://link.webropol.com/s/LowerWyeConsultation

It's very vague what the issues are that they're consulting about exactly, but my concern is that they will "sanitise" some of the awesome technical bridleways in the Wye Valley as has happened in both the Peak District and Lake District:
https://peakdistrictmtb.org/a-hollow-feeling-dcc-on-hollowford-road-castleton/

The consultation closes at 11:59pm this evening (Fri 12th Jan) - so you need to do this this eve! It will only take you 5 mins to fill in.

To give you inspiration, here are all of my answers to the consultation (and also so you can see everything in the survey on one page):

cheers

On it. Thanks for the heads up. Would be a travesty to lose these trails to the sanitation of the countryside brigade.

If you want to see a good example of what’s possible that absolutely is not ‘sanitising’ aka making routes accessible for all, then have a look at the unclassified road and byway that runs up from Tintern across Chapel Hill. Plenty of green infrastructure in place to assist in NFM whilst keeping the route open and usable.

Thanks for the heads up robingrant. I grew up in Chepstow (and used to spanner in the old bike shop if you knew it) so will share with my bike friends still in the area.
