Daughters bike is on 1x 9, she has a lower guide, but its coming off the top. So I reckon upper guide required. At 17.99 delivered this seems to be the best on offer? I have iscg 05 mounts too, but those type are all 30 odd quid, like the on up one.

Wouldn’t something like this do the job and look nicer than the Superstar one?

Have you tried a NW ring? Will work fine with a 1x9 set-up.

Paul's chainkeeper works very well on one of my bikes (can't use a NW as it's a Middleburn Uno ring). They're pricy new, but I got it about £15 on eBay.

Yup, very similar to the SS one, but has the bonus of being a nice piece of CNCed kit 😉

That one I linked on eBay also claims to be cnc aluminium too - and it’s under a tenner. Not bought one myself (got a one up bash guide and I had bought an e13 bash guide too - but it doesn’t fit my hardtail so it’s going to have to go back annoyingly), but for a cheap build it’s got to be worth a go!

That eBay link looks good - provided the item quality is better than the translation quality...

Exclusive design, solid out chain, the chain rate 99%. Easy to install, ISCG03, 05 can tooth plate in the demolition could not install. Appearance is concise and easy, color gorgeous SAO gas

I hadn’t read that description! That’s particularly bad!

I would suggest the Oneup one. It comes with a spare cage and shims for fine tuning and avoid rubbing, not sure if others have that.

Personally I was trying to buy a oneup bash guide recently (chain guide and bash guard in one) but it’s out of stock pretty much everywhere. Even oneup are out of stock in the U.K. and their site says they’re closed whilst they move warehouse.

I ordered the OneUp Bash Guide from https://www.bike-components.de/ recently. I've used them a couple of times when I've had trouble sourcing things. I have the OneUp Top Guide on my current bike and it's been great.

I have 2 one up guides and one of the knock offs linked to above. The knock off is just as good

Raleigh (rsp) make a really good top guide called the Mino.

Got one on my current FS bike, been faultless and cost about £20.

After recommendations here, today we tested a used NW ring, no chainguide, and it worked a treat. No cropped chain. You guys are ace cheers.
