Unlikely bodge - SRAM Matchmakers X I-Spec B. Anyone tried it?

The world of shifter fits and adapter clamps has almost defeated me.

I need to mount an I-Spec B RH/rear shifter with less offset relative to the brake lever. I want to mount the shifter so the shifter body main pivot is roughly centred under a brake lever, rather than offset to the side.

I was looking for a band adapter that slotted onto an I-Spec B shifter body but didn't see any. Only bands that attache to teh I-Spec B part to replace the brake leer clamp. Plenty of band adaptersfor SRAM matchmaker shifters about, ie this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Akozon-Adapter-Shifter-Durable-Aluminum/dp/B09GV9HFWV which is what I need, zero offset.

So ... If SRAM matchmaker clamps like this have 2 rails they might (haha.. such optimism) fit into the slots in the I Spec B shifter body. Maybe with some filing etc. Has anyone tried it? Or, does anyone have a SRAM shifter to hand and could tell me the slot spacing?

Currently I have an old M780 right shifter that has those 3 small bolt holes to mount it to the clamp and I use a LH clamp flipped around to get the shifter position I want. Can't buy those anymore though and I'm looking for another similar solution. Cheers all..

Link was just a non-offset band clamp for matchmaker SLs.

Is there an option in here?

There used to be Problem Solvers to make SRAM and ISpec fit. No idea which of the million versions of ISpec it was though.

Not for what I wanted to do, no - thanks tho, had a look at Wolftooth's range but it's all made to adapt a shifter mount while keeping the shifter position similar. I want a different mount get the clamp further in toward the stem.

Doesn't look like the matchmaker clamp will fit Ispec B having seen how wide the rails/grooves are on Ispec B. Filing one of the rails off might let the 2 fit together though.

I knew it was a bit of a maze but I hadn't appreciated it was a 4D maze with added 3 body problem levels.

I could go off on a massive rant about shifters and compatibility today but since I'm trying to get stuff working on an old Ti H-bar (so comfy and useful for ATB stuff, so famously crap for mounting anything to which is why they were on my SS for many years), all on a bike that's 135mm QR back end ... I should rant at myself as much as Shimano.

Aliexpress for adapters to fit current Shimano shifters to sram brakes. Wolf tooth and problem solvers were expensive and I don’t think they did the latest Shimano (which is why I struggled with mine coming lose all the time for 3 years after not researching it properly.

if you want some weird custom position can’t imagine you’ll find anything as that’s a really unusual problem

Can you share an example of what you mean?

For ispec EV I've just been fixing them straight on to the mmx clamp.

I think this is want maybe? I bought an i-spec XTR shifter at half price, thinking it would be an easy process to convert it to band on one (it wasn't). So my bikeshop did this for me, which is a i-spec shifter on a sram bracket - he had to shave the shifter down or the bracket for it to work. I-spec to band on

lol- that brings back memories. The Shimano flippy shifters were the mutts on the original hbars.  Teamed up with a RR rear mech for the win!

My Diamond 135mm has loop bars which work better.  The Space is rocking AXS which is ace but will prob go XT wireless at some point as I prefer Shimano.
