FFS. This thread is certainly handy for bringing out the homophobes. Can you give it a rest?

this times a million. (I can't help but think that mention of folks sexuality was part of a plan to try and get the thread deleted, lets not rise to it (as there is no place for it) and keep on topic, eh?)

Yes.

I must admit, I didn’t think my little prod would lead to quarter of a page with lots of homophobic nudge-nudge going on. That’s ****ing shit, people. Pack it in.

Joe made himself look very daft, and deserved some ridicule for that and for that alone (well, and for sticking up for a company that look like they are to all intents fraudulent). But nothing should be taken as a green light to go after someone because of their sexuality. There is a line and it dovetails neatly with rule number one.

@joecantello

I tried to reply to your PM, but something is on the blink. Seeing as how I am not someone who posts one thing publicly and another privately, I might as well post it here:

I agree partly. Absolutely no way should any be ‘got after’ on the basis of sexuality or race etc. ‘Ruin life’ is a bit strong, and I doubt a STW ban is going to ruin anyone’s life.

Getting a ribbing for doing and saying things that make you look daft is, as far as I am concerned, fair enough. Judge people by their actions. Hopefully you will have the self awareness to read back some of your stuff on here, and realise you were likely to get ribbed.

For what it is worth, I am not homophobic. Many years ago, I had a gay housemate and I have several work colleagues and more than one friend who is gay. They are taken at face value, just like anyone else. I also know a few gay people who I don’t get along with, but that is a personality/actions thing. Sexuality just isn’t an issue for me.

Hope that clears things up.

Not really, especially if you remember who did the sketch and what inspired it. In general this has to be one of the best forums I've ever seen for people genuinely not caring what way you happen to go

They're taking the piss, using the targets sexuality as a point of humour. Given a poster is here saying that people are making homophobic comments, do you really think that 'joke' is helpful?

Carrying on this line of conversation isn't helping anything, drop it, move on. Else it will only cause the thread to be closed, which may or may not have been some posters objective all along.

This.

The thread is about Sick Bikes taking people’s money and not delivering the goods.

That is not on, and they deserve a shellacking.

yes and no.

No in that there is no new output.

Yes in that sick haven't posted on their IG for 2 weeks + now (compared with multiple daily posts), and aren't deleting folk highlighting what is going on, which may well be a development.

which may well be a development.

Unfortunately I suspect not a good one indicating they have given up entirely on this bike thing. Shame really could have done with another decent clothing company rather than a badly performing bike company.

Well after telling me monday I could have a refund and being told daily that it was passed on to Tim/Jordan/The other one who's name I cant remember/Beelzebub/Insert imaginary person here they stopped responding friday. Now I've had shit day today so my tolerance for arseholes like Sick and their little entourage is at an all time low.
I'm gonna leave it until after the weekend as I have more pressing things (a friends personal crisis takes precedent here) but tuesday will be deadline day and i'll open the paypal dispute.
Lets see if the ****less knobs can sort it out then.

@spev

Best of luck, hope you get your money back and that you don’t have to go through the wringer too much.

Well done for putting this on the back burner whilst you sort out more important stuff, you sound for all the world like a perfectly reasonable and normal person who is just getting really bloody annoyed with something that is really bloody annoying!

All they’ve got to do is hold their hands up and give you the money back, after all. If they’ve already spent the money on something else and can’t, then they’re going to be in the shit. This stuff is not complicated…

considering hes had his frame

If I remember correctly (I’m not reading the whole of that pink bike thread to check) he, like longmover, received a frame but not the frame he ordered.

He ordered a ti frame in the jet fuel colour, it came without jet fuel and the wrong frame name etched into it. He also ordered some of the mythical snappy ti bars. But it drove him over the edge and he went a bit apocalypse now over it.

I can't help but see the funny side of the fact that I personally know someone with a Sick frame over here in BC, yet my Gnarpoon T Shirt is ironically lost in the post 🙂

(I know it was sent and no issues with the sender, mainly just bummed as the T shirt is pretty hilarious)

The fact that they are STILL playing the game with ‘surprises’ rather than growing up and being honest and straight should be terrifying to anyone who has given them money.
Teasers and blocked comments are not what a responsible company in such a awful situation should be doing.

Lister beat me too it. I was going to make exactly the same comment. That's no way to start to rebuild the trust of a community you've managed to alienate. How many people here or on PB think that Sick! are a reliable company now? As far as I can make out they've promised more than once that they've got the dull business side of things sorted with proper systems and F/T employees, shipping, delivery schedules, warehousing, QC, all that dull shit that they don't (or can't) seem to bother with. The time for "Guess what, tune in later for exciting news" has long gone...

The weird thing is, they clearly have products that sell, folk seem to really like the Tees, and given the amount of folk looking for refunds (or just info on where their frames are) there seems to be a market for those as well.  If at the time they'd held their hands up and admitted they were swamped, I think people would've given them some slack.

I genuinely don't wish them ill, and hope that ultimately they succeed in supplying people the bikes they clearly want. If I were them, I'd just be quietly getting on with that rather than banging the Insta drum

+1 another we’ve heard all this “It’s sorted” BS.....I don’t believe a word of it.

The MTB press needs to get its act together & call them on it. Yes, I know STW are composing an article but it’s taking its time to show its face....

So much more than that. I can actually see a new direction and I'm sure it'll all get sorted. I mean, the scousers turned 3-0 around last night so why can't Suckbikes. Oh cos they're a ****ing omnishambles. There surely can't be a person left on the planet who'd buy into their promises.

The most any journo will do is to give them yet another opportunity to say that they are sorting stuff and really really sorry honest guv. I very much doubt there'll be a "haven't we heard all of this before...", Probably a nice picture of a s****y warehouse with one frame and a zillion empty boxes, some more hipster coffee...

What Sick need to do is stop the bull, sort out every single refund and deliver on existing orders make sure these take priority over any new products/socks etc. Give the competition winner his frame, reply to emails in a timely manner, oh and maybe stop being dickheads on the internet.

Oh yeah, Canada Post are horrendous for that. I complained to my postie that 4 months' worth of a monthly mag subscription, and about 3 weeks of a weekly magazine, had not been delivered. For the next 6 days they delivered nothing but magazines, some issues of which they'd obviously been sat on for more than 3 months.

Tbh, Sick should use that as an excuse, even for those bikes not being sent to Canada...

I know that I'm a bit late to this conversation, but, I ordered a Ruby Wulf frame with the understanding that it was going to ship in 2 weeks.....that was March 1. I also ordered a t-shirt that, to my surprise, arrived here in California less than a week later. When I was sent the notification of the shipment, I mistakenly thought it was the frame. I was disappointed and puzzled. I thought they would just throw it in the frame box when they shipped that, not spend the money to expedite a t-shirt from the UK to CA.....weird. I followed up with them and was initially told that it would be two weeks. Subsequent emails then claimed that they had run into a problem. The frames had been made, but they were, for reasons they never explained, unable to bring them ashore and were "sorting it out and would send everyone an update soon".

Weeks continued to pass and two things happened. I noticed that they had removed the Wulf series frames completely from the website, and I came across this blog while looking for Wulf geometry.
I decided to push them a bit more as by this point we are well over a month past the 3/16 ship date they promised me. Since they still couldn't give me a ship date, I canceled and requested a full refund.

I was told by James that all refunds were authorized by their directors and that he would request my refund immediately. That was 3 weeks ago and still nothing.

I promised Sick Bicycles that if I didn't receive my refund within a few days that I would have a new hobby and that my new hobby would be to tell as many people as I could about their bullshit little scam. I also told them that I would continue to post on message boards and contact as many magazines in the US and Europe as I can. This posting is my first effort towards mastering my new hobby. Scumbag, rip-off, peice of shit little bitches. Seriously.....**** those guys.

Nice to see them back on IG, but in reality, nothing has changed. It’s just another ‘everything will be fine’ message like the half dozen before it. It’s almost like they think sending these messages out solves the problems. Still no action...

The FAQ section of their website is my favourite....first question is....where is my stuff? Ha ha

Also interesting that every T-shirt sold they provide a meal for a kid and plant a tree. Maybe that’s where they have been lately? I mean I see loads of Sick T-shirts. So obviously they got loads of kids to feed and trees to bury! Right?

"For every shirt we sell in 2018 we plant a tree and provide 1 meal for a child. We don't shout about it because its just something we do. We support the Eden Reforestation Project and Marys Meals. As such we do not sponsor, promote or endorse any other charity. "

i know the folk at marys meals, maybe i'll ask if it's legit

Well, they don't give to the Eden Reforestation Project (at least not formally).
They aren't listed on any of their partnerhsip pages;
> Forest Partners - $100,000 +
> Grove Partners - $50,000 - $99,999
> Sapling Partners - $10,000-$49,999
> Seedling Partners - $5,000-$9,999
> Seed Partners - $250-$4,999
