skimmed that roadbikereview forum post.

rollercoaster.

6 years to get a court judgment then the implication that the frame builder faked their own death to avoid paying up.

Press release or not stw and pinkbike should probably do some editorial and ask them where people's bikes are.

You'd think they'd at least have some awareness of what's going on though, and not make themselves party to it?

Alex Simon… my frame? What the **** are you on about????
This ilustrates my point exactly! Pointless jumping to (wrong) conclusions.

You're right. Please accept my apologies. I remember you posting a link to a frame for sale, but now I see that you said it wasn't yours. Again - sorry.

I will happily kick them whilst they are down. What really gets me is all the people waiting for frames whilst they doing new drops, bringing out new models and spouting their fighty attitude on Instagram yet when they are confronted about their absolutely awful service they block people. They dish it out but can’t take it, I for one would love for them to actually try to justify their actions in a setting where they can’t just delete negative voices or block people.

“10 grand …guitars”

Were you thinking it was 10k from one purchaser? It wasn’t, it was lots of amounts of a few hundred odd to maybe 1k from lots of bassists. It ran on for years, he kept ‘selling’ to new people.

Using PayPal express and Stripe for Payments, Transfer and Refunds is not cutting it. We keep getting *random* (wink wink nudge nudge) holds from PayPal on funds.

So, paypal and stripe have cancelled Sicks merchant accounts then?

No I actually though 10 grand from lots of people each, I am about as musically talented as a big brush so don't follow those circles but I do follow a guy who machines guitars out of solid ally so figured 10k a pop might be plausable.

Things turn from "unhappy" to "very unhappy" right now.

It's a bit like when the dodgy takeaway that no one really uses puts a sign in the window saying "Sorry, we've got a problem with our card machine. Cash only"

The only problem is that their cash flow is so stuffed, they can't pay the card fees.

Not that such a thing is happening to the most happening bike brand on the UK scene...

This! As a owner of a sick frame this is the reason I wouldn't buy another one.

For context 2 of my friends also have sick frame, 2 of the 3 of us are happy with the frames we purchased but the way they treated/communicated with the 3rd* is dogshite.

*he hasn't posted his story/saga on STW.

Was just doing analysis on Socialblade for something unrelated which reminded me of Sick, so i had a quick look at their profile.

Turns out they've gained a bit a bit of traction recently and continuing their substantial growth. All publicity is good publicity, right? Meanwhile the Pinbike saga continues

Firstly, as number one fanboi, congratulations on digging up an old post.

And given by the hammering they have been getting on Pinkbike, when their reputation is at gutter level, I guess the only way is up. If only success in life was measured as a number of followers huh? Mind you, with the latest bits on on there dragged up from Dumber & Dumber's past, we can assume most of the IG followers are bought, or bots. In other words, a sham, like the hundreds, and hundreds of frames they have sold already, and the hundreds awaiting delivery.

Have they already gone pop now anyway? There has been radio silence for weeks. Given their total narcissistic desires, that's literally a lifetime for them.

Or maybe Dim has got lost in the massive warehouse of frames they have.

He did a live video stream the other week. But couldn't be bothered to sit and listen and he didn't save it afterwards. Their latest post has a comment at the top slagging them off which hasn't been deleted. Doesn't look too healthy for sick

@butterbean
I love it how you call me "No. 1 Fanboi" because I own 1 of their bikes. So I take it because I also own a Knolly, a Chromag, a Santa Cruz and a Cinelli then that makes me a fanboi's of all these brands.

@butterbean. Good to see you can use Instagram buddy. The shot was taken a year or so ago when I did some voluntary work for Sick at some shows. Nothing ever happened past that and I don't even work in that industry anymore. As there's a lot more money to be made in car sales.

And yet on the Instagram blurb they seem to be mapping out some kind of job progression - bit presumptive for voluntary work, no?

Much as I can see the conflict of interest here and think it's fair to call it out... I'd warn this (year old insta posts) is very much starting to look like the sort of thing that had the other thread closed folks so, before it gets that far, it might be wise to back off Joe, especially if as he says, there has been homophobic bullying too (don't recall it personally and I'm not about to go looking).

Totally agree, although I suspected that was an attempt to get the thread closed deliberately.

Hardly anyone on here would call someone out because of their sexuality or whatever. And if they did, they would get a kicking.

What will be called out is someone popping up to defend what basically sounds very much like a Ponzi scheme.

Back on track, for the article linked on the previous page;

The DFA has been developed by “Sick Laboratories Special Projects” division, the department...

Oooh! SPECIAL! PROJECTS! DIVISION! DEPARTMENT!

There are about three people in the whole company. The fact that this was published shows it was published as a gushing piece of froth with no dude diligence. Believing whatever guff Sick spouted and parroting it back. Not good.

In a weird sort of way, though, it is far easier to argue in an arena where it will actually get shouty, non-specific and personal. That way, you don’t have to actually answer any specifics or argue with people who may well have a bit more life experience and can see things for what they are.

The Donald Trump model of discourse.

@joecantello are you still in touch with the owner of Sick, there still seem to be plenty of customers that haven’t had frames yet, would be good to hear a genuine response about what they have to say about when or if people will get their goods delivered, instead of the generic email sob story, lost in the post, in transit, stuck in a warehouse, issues with some magical frame builder, dog ate them excuse from them.

@joecantello

+1 for bigwill’s polite enquiry above.

Don’t worry about the trolls, the 99.9% of us that aren’t like that will deal with them.

But if you were able to help the people on here who have had their money taken for goods that have not been supplied, then that would be a really nice thing to do.

Like I said before I worked voluntary at a few shows for them and now I work in the automotive industry. I know nothing about their business and have no dealings with it. I honestly hope everybody gets sorted.
And if anyone needs proof of my above statement accusing Matt Yates aka @grizzlygnarcissist of homophobic abuse, i'll happily give you it.

No need for proof and he is bang out of order. All that aside I don’t think Sick should be defended for their shitty attitude and actions towards paying customers. Refund or deliver what was promised end of. Stop the whining and blaming others in the supply chain. Their product, their responsibility.

@joecantello

No need for the proof - the post on the previous page was enough. Bang out of order.

Fair enough, you no longer have anything to do with Sick Bikes, so wouldn’t be able to help there.

Presumably, given the bad experiences with the (admittedly more mundane) business of actually providing goods for money taken up-front, you will now have a more rounded opinion of Sick?

Joe, were you the chap threatening to hack Mr Yates on PB, or are you the ‘friend’ that poster was talking about, before the post was edited? And which of your two sick frames did you buy? Why feel the need to bring this thread back to life? Is it because you want to help the OP get his couple of grand back? You could help with all that money you have that you are so proud of, no?

Anyway, that’s all by the by.

What I really want to know is, why are you still defending them? Is what they are saying all true? Is there a container of 150 frames winging its way here? Why can’t anyone get to the warehouse to inspect the goods? Are they selling up/bringing in grown ups Investors to sort this mess?

Oh Joe.....

Shit. I genuinely thought you’d had some old stuff trawled up by a few people when you tried (Ill-advisedly) a bit to help your mates out. I actually thought you were more sinned against than sinning in this matter for a while.

But the wacky reappearance a bit later shouting “I WILL WREAK MY REVENGE” like some kind of demented Baron Greenback just makes it obvious that you are trying to help your previous(?) employers out with their guerilla marketing strategy. Shame.

FWIW everyone can construe their job as ‘voluntary’, I mean, I don’t have to go to work tomorrow if I don’t want to. But my employer doesn’t have to pay me, either. The little bio Sick did on you on the previous page makes it look for all the world like you were employed by them. And you don’t have to be on a payroll system and in a pension scheme to be ‘paid’. Free bikes and kit, for example.

Now I am in a genuine conundrum, because stoking this further actually helps with the guerilla marketing, so on that basis, I am out. You’ve blown your cover here, I’m afraid.

I certainly won’t be spending any money with Sick Bikes and I will continue to chortle at the Gnarpoon T-Shirts, which are, frankly, an awesome bit of wit and piss-taking.

Genuine question, has anyone actually reported Sick to trading standards yet? It’s fairly clear they are either completely inept or on the fiddle. Either way people not getting what they paid for, or a refund is a complete joke and I’m sure there would be significant interest.

I genuinely feel for anyone who has lost out financially, because of the instabang fanfare!

I’ve got ‘can’t pay, we’ll take it away’ and ‘watchdog’ on series link, just so I don’t miss it when they pick up this one...

As for why folk haven’t gone to TS, I assume it’s pangs of guilt when the ‘were really sorry, it wasn’t our fault, we’re moving to an office, Jordan sneezed so had a week off’ pleading emails come out.

Though I think the OP is seeking legal advice, as is a chap in the states. Both of whom say they are owed Ti frames, that sick no longer produce.
