Do any of the bike manufacturers offer small (under 6yrs) full face helmets?
I think THE do a corbon kids helmet. You want it to be carbon for the light weight as their necks arnt that strong. Mine have just got Bell piss pot helmets, nice and safe plus unlike most kids helmets they don't look special wearing them.
My youngest (5) has a cratoni full face lid. Wast massively expesive, its a good fit and he doesnt mind wearing it all day. IIRC its a small juniors.
+1 on the Bell skate helmets as he has one of them too.
massively expensive
You know what. His head is worth it. 🙂
Your sons' age is irrelevent, his head size is the only thang that matters.
We ended up with a 661 MX helmet as it was the only one we could find that fitted.
Its not full-face, but have a look at the Uvex Hero Kids helmet. I've just got one for my 4 1/2 year old. Its basically a scaled down version of my Uvex XP100 but with bright colours. So ultralight and a superb simple clasp mechanism.
It was the weight thing that really persuaded me, if they can't feel it, they won't mind. And for that reason, I'd avoid full-face unless he genuinely needs it riding a DH track...
