I've seen this product mentioned on a couple of threads, & people have mentioned if with plenty of praise, but is it really that good?
How does it work if it washes off with water? Surely your drivetrain will just be lube free at the first sight of rain? Or puddles?

I generally work on the rule that if it seems to good be to true then it probably is so keen to hear people's experiences with it.

The one I had was a waste of time. Gone within 10miles even on dry road rides. However, I've been told that it's thicker these days, so hangs on better..... not tried an updated one myself though

I don't really understand how it works, and my scepticism is not yet fully overcome, but when I come back from riding in the filth and wet, the drivetrain does clean up a treat with just water, and I have no rust on it, so it seems to be doing something right.

I asked the same question of the fellas that recommended it to me, and they reckon it builds up over time. I'll carry on with it for a while yet. I'd say I'm fairly impressed so far.

Is it a case of.....

It will protect your bike from rust while it is sat in the garage but will wash off at the first puddle. As long as you re apply at the end of the ride your chain will stay rust free .

But the majority of the time you are riding without lubricant as it washes off early in a ride. So outwardly the chain looks to be in good condition (rust free) but actually its wearing at much increased rate.

sounds like snake oil

Yes - that's what I'm thinking, hence asking the question!

You just know when a company puts the word 'ultimate' in front of their products name that it isn't going to be. At all!

"Reapply after every wet ride" is basically the definition of barely adequate chainlube, and "washes off with water" just sounds absurd. But I've got a wee bottle of it somewhere, need to give it a crack as it does have a good rep from some that have used it.
