The 2.5mm spacers are just for mountain bike bottom brackets aren't they? 2 for drive side, one for non drive side.
Road chainsets have none don't they? Just that thin sealing cover on the non drive side, before you put the crank on.
Just looking for a confidence builder from you.
Putting triple on the crosser for the 3 Peaks next weekend.
Thanks in advance.
It's relative crank spindle to the BB width. For HT2 road bikes are 68mm, MTB's are 73mm.
Look at the Tech Docs for the spacers needed for the crank / BB you are going to fit Shimano Tech Docs
Make sure you wear chainsaw trousers
Chainsaw trousers for the 3Peaks?
First.time for me. Had a run up waterside. I think I know what you mean.
you need spacers for a triple, but none for a compact
Chainsaw trousers for an Ultegra chainsaw
That was the sound of a giraffes fart going right over the OP's head 🙂

He Stihl doesn't get it!
I guess he is just one of those fellers who woodn't understand.
You don't use any BB spacers with a road triple chainset, just screw the cups into the frame. There is however a spacer that goes on the axle between the BB cup and the crank on the driveside.
