Hmmm. I'm not far away, now we've moved house. But I'm more a "ride down hills" rather than "ride DH".

Might have a spin down there to see what the tracks are like. Only been through there on the SDW.

Good work getting it organised though, sounds like a journey!

Hi Scott, whats the timetable likely to be like on that day because I work shifts and have to be at work at 1830 and I'd love to race this!

As long as you don't make the podium you will be fine 😉

Hardtails go firsts ish so your second run should be done by about 3:30 latest

Not very IMO, It's piggybacking on a grassroots race

Not very IMO

Says the course setter from a race ridden in the dark which seemed to reduce a decent portion of the field to quivering wrecks 🙂

Must admit I'm tempted to enter this as it's fairly local but my HT is a 29er XC bike, kinda worried I'd ruin it!

Very true 😯
If I was to compare the track to the Day & night enduro stages I would say easier than 1 & 2 and Harder than 3 & 4.

Scott, is this in the park or Headdown? ie using stuff from the day & night? (cos I coped with that - just!)

Also, is there a fully rigid category? - I'm thinking fatbike given the slideyness last weekend 😀

There was a guy on the Isle of Wight randonee a few weeks back in just a thong - each to their own eh?

(Wasn't pleasant passing him on a climb as he was out of the saddle - also he needed mudguards 😯 )

Righty-o. Talk me through how I enter please because I have no idea. Is it like motorcycle racing where I have to join a club, then the governing body, then put my entry in?

POSTED 3 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST

Don't need any of that just need to enter online.
Also I was unaware that ladies could not enter Hardtails. Seam a bit sexist IMO.

Looks like I might join your mate and ride my Solaris.
Rode the day/night and loved it, can't do the summer one so this looks to be the next best thing.
Now where's the best place to look for a good, cheap full face for a huge head? 😆

I quite fancy it - can I get away with a Bell Super 2R or do I need a "proper" full face?

It might just be a problem with the way the event is set up online. I've sent an email to BC anyway. Stick me in with the fellas, I'll race anyone 😆

Agree I can see how you can have a age cat for men and women separate but have a men's HT cat and NO women's HT cat sounds odd. Let me know what the email says because another lady just asked the same question.

9 till 4 ish and it's £5 on the day.

BTW just to let you guys know I am organising the Champs on the back of the Gravity project race but I/the champs don't take any money out. Just doing it you encourage others to race in Hardtail and have as much fun racing as I do!!

Okey dokey, I haven't had an email back yet but it's only been a few hours since they'd have read it so they won't have had time to flap about and discuss it in committee yet 😆

Anyhoo, it looks like I can just enter the women's category and I'll ride it on my HT 😀

edit- done! 😀

I tell you what if we can get 3 women to enter I will speak to the sponsor's and see if we can get prize fastest women on HT!
Same goes for Fatbikes if there are 3!!

2 runs, sometime GP do 3 runs but the numbers and track length at qecp have meant it has always been 2 runs.
Here are the results from last years race to give you an idea of track times: https://www.rootsandrain.com/race2475/2014-jun-1-gp-honey-4-queen-elizabeth-country-park/
