I've replaced the headshok with a lefty, but am now unsure whether it's made the bike better looking or uglier... what do you think?

Looks "better" IMO though that's a strange saddle angle?

looks better, but level your seat up and get those doors painted.

Put the saddle right
lose the mudguard
and change the fugly stem to something a bit prettier

that saddle angle makes sense, I have mine like that, means that you can have your weight on your sit bones rather than working on building up a fine set of gristly balls

you can sit on your sit bomes with your seat level too, but it means you can balence your weight on the seat better rather than it tipping all your weight onto your arms.

Looks far better, but the mega stem and funny cables/routing do it no favours

Thanks for the comments!

I think it's slightly better.

To answer the other points.

That saddle angle is a little more than I normally run an has been adjusted a bit more level after that photo, but I do find the saddle has a lot of flex at the rear so lends well to a nose down approach. I don't squish my knackers if the nose is pointing down a bit.

The stem is comfy 😉

The hose routing I can't be arsed to trim.

The chain is a gold one 😉

I like a crud guard. I don't ride with baggies so like a dry bum. I know some of you lot prefer colonic irrigation with silty water but that doesn't float my boat.

The Shed isn't mine 🙂 Neither is the grass.

believe it or not, that's a large size, but cannondale only made 2 (i think) seat tubes for the Scalpel. The large shared the same as the XL 22"!
