Bit late now really, how many orders have they had that they can't complete?
Surely when you take over a business & website you check physical stock against what it says you have???

The new owner didn't get any stock and he will probably not have the Credit with supplier's to get stock.
The Ubyk website is also now down!!!!!

I am perplexed by this. First off why anyone would continue reading under the UBYK name, which frankly is worth noting other than established negative reviews and burnt customer base and secondly, why anyone would order from them again, regardless of new ownership. It’s a complete shower! I genuinely hope no one gets seriously burnt this time around

I thought the web architecture was one of the principal assets he thought he was buying. It's not like the good name of the company amounted to much.

Must admit, I looked on there at something, saw they didn't appear to be taking Paypal, and decided against.

How half arsed can this "takeover" of ubyk possibly get?

Aren't there laws relating to false advertising that cover a 'severely outdated website"?
Click on the website and it still sends you to other parts of the site making claims like this:
https://flic.kr/p/RZ8ZmH
He really needs to get his IT muffin to just stick up a big holding page because he's not got this right just yet. If he carries on then it starts to look a bit like Sick!

The reason people will order from Ubyk is PRICE and PRICE alone that is it.
You Need to be able to pay your IT Muffin lol.
You only need to look on companies House to see that his other business make **** all money.
His pockets are not deep enough to run that website properly.
I don't think any of the main distributors want to deal with UBYK.

My willingness to defend the new business vs the sins of the previous one is waning... Whoever is now running it doesn't appear to be particularly switched on. Not ditching the name was his first, of seemingly many, mistakes

Well my Wolftooth remote turned up today from UBYK.
No email or anything to say it was dispatched....
Still, I've got it now!

And, to be fair to them, one of my customers ordered something from Ubyk and got a delivery. It wasn't the thing he ordered (at all), so he contacted them and sent it back. They sent him a new delivery. It was the thing he ordered, but not in the colour he ordered. He contacted them, they said they'd had problems with their website and asked him to send it back but told him that the thing he actually wanted was out of stock at the supplier. He sent it back and asked for a refund.

At this point he also came to me. I winced at the name "Ubyk" and told him about this thread. I checked with the supplier and the thing he wants is in stock. I ordered it for him. He is still waiting for a refund from Ubyk / Peak...

I'm only being vague about the items because he's still waiting for a refund and I don't want my griping on here to be held against him. I'll happily give full details once he's got his money back. And I'm not pointing out another company's flaws because of schadenfreude - we all make mistakes. It was just the lie about it being out of stock at the supplier made me want to warn others to be cautious.

Oh my! www.ubyk2u.co.uk

The old Ubyk had evidently bitten off more than they could chew as a business, but at least presented itself well. Post take-over Ubyk seems to have done away with that pretence.

Haha what a joke. You can join the company through a franchise where you will get a van kitted out with Park Tools how much would that be to join the franchise because people have that money at their disposal!! Says 30yrs Cytech experience owner has none!!

The new owner has one store only and that' Chesterfield.
With UBYK 2u it's a mobile mechanic franchise service which you pay a fee for the Ubyk name and access to trade accounts.
I have tried this idea with another company and its hard to make any money doing it despite all the promises and bullshit that comes with your franchise.
Anyone that gives him a penny to join Ubyk 2 u needs their heads looked at lol.
UBYK/peak bikes have been losing trade accounts left right and centre.

I had a quick look through the first five of six pages of the catalogue, not many bargains there given the fees to add on and still three days to run.

Pay for rights to the Ubyk name? I assume its a negative fee?

contains the faulty dropper post that I sent back for repair under warranty, that tube is what I sent it back in.

Currently trying to get funds from Administrator with little success.

Seems their dross customer service is continuing. Maybe some people need to realise they're just not very good at running businesses.

Looks like they are still dropshipping, selling stuff they don’t have in stock and hoping to get it quickly from their supplier. Great when it works but there are many places in the chain where it can go tits up!

Well if its a fact, its a fact and just because the owner reads the fact shouldnt be a reason not to state it, so let us know.

Otherwise it sounds like a rumour, troll, stirring things up ?

I thought the new guy had just bought the website/platform? What does he owe the old employees?

When was he due to pay for the website? I would have thought that would be an upfront payment (of not a lot) given the state the original business appeared to be in?

I expect them to be on a Pro Forma bases with distributors, After UBYK’s track record keeping the same website you would be treated as a new business. And yes I have worked for distributors & have trade accounts myself

Or we can look at the fact that you joined and have only ever posted on this thread, so are refusing to reveal sources because you made it up?

This does seem fishy !

I got the impression the new bloke is trying to run a genuine business. He may have bought a website with an unfortunate reputation, but thats his choice.

If someone wants to alert potential users to an issue, they need to provide evidence, otherwise its just trolling / spite / stirring.

Peakbikes and Ubyk websites have now both vanished. Hopefully that's the end of the saga and no one else will be shafted by this unscrupulous business.

And all of their social media...well Facebook pages anyway.  Still a life instagram account but not been posted on since August.  Looks like Peak bikes has done a UBYK, if in fact they ever really were so far apart?? Hope no one has been done this time around

Not really
You have a unit that you need to fill, business a needs more work at the minute and is put on the back burner, business b uses the high street space. I think the conjecture and witch hunt on here is all a bit much tbh
