Evening all. Just about to fit a set of Uberbike Race Matrix pads to my Shimano XT M8000 brakes but the pad springs don't have Left / Right written on them. They do however have some little raised bumps on them. Does anyone know which way these need to be orientated, or can the pad springs be installed either way (they look symmetrical, but then again, so do the Shimano springs)?

Err..I think I put the knobble at the front, but as I’ve never given it any thought it may have gone the other way round.. I’ve never noticed any significant difference.
i await being told I’ve cheated death....

I think I might just flip a coin to choose a side. There doesn't appear to be any discernible difference.

I treat these notches in the same way I treat those little dangly bits hanging of a new tyre. I cut them off using snips. There are two benefits to this. Less weight and less aerodynamic drag.
