Anyone had issues with Uberbike finned pads?
Have they changed manufacturers?
Just fitted some to the Mega and compared to the last set these were awful.
The pad spring is too wide and if not centred when you install it drops out of one side of the pad and jams.
Also had a set with 2 LH side fins - which won't fit as the wrong shape - luckily I ordered 4 sets so had spares.
The friction material also appears to be thinner than previous sets I've had.

Takes me a 3/4 attempts to get those in correctly, like you say the spring is slightly to wide but once you do get them centered and fitted I've never had any issues of the spring moving out once installed.
It's just annoying to get them set up in the first place.

Thanks, I resorted to putting an Allen key through the hole to keep everything lined up while I dropped the pads into the caliper.
Never had to do that previously - they just stayed together and went in fine.

I have had a different issue with their Kevlar pads. They simply wouldn't bed in follwoing THEIR suggested protocol. I even tried on a new rotor, but the problem was still there. I contacted them as I assumed it was a bad batch, no big deal.
Quite surprised at the aggressivity and arrogance of their response. They simply wouldn't consider that a product of theirs could be poor, however friendly my approach was.
I left it at that as it was only a few pounds worth but will not buy anything from them and will share my experience with others.

They have certainly changed the design of the magura mt5/7 pads. Used to be 4 individual pads per caliper, now they are 2 piece requiring the caliper to be removed.
I wont be buying them again.

Oversize spring/undersize backing plate with the last batch I bought here. Bloody infuriating to fit and the spring slips off the end and rubs on the disc.

Not sure Ill go down that route again.

There are plenty options for zee/saint/xt pattern pads.

I don't bother with their finned pads. Found them to be pretty awful in set up and in use. Got no issues with their standard pads though. Using their "e-bike spec" ones with my saints.

No issues at all plus the blue goes with the blue on the bike which is clearly why I bought them

+1 for difficult to set up - impossible to center the caliper with the heatsinks on the pads.

I thought it was just me being a bit rubbish at fitting the finned pads.

I've still a few pairs left so will have to stick with them for now.

What other pads are we using for the Shimano xt finned pads then?

Interesting.

I've been using UberBike for a few years now - we've all been on Kevlar pads. Last lot was bought a year or more back, as I do the 4 of each deal.

I was about to do a job lot order.

Where do we suggest now then...?

I dont use finned pads, recently bought some of the Code E Matrix ones to try, usually use their Race Matrix pads.

Fitted the new ones on Saturday to the rear of the Turbo Levo with no problems, a couple of minutes from start to finish. No problems with spring or pad size and thickness.

I hope the compound is as good

I’ve been using Uberbike pads for a good few years now on mtb (but on the road bike I just stayed with genuine finned pads).

Just trying some e-bike matrix ones in my Code R’s / Guide RE. Only done the rear on my fs bike (still got Sram genuine sintered pads in the front) and all seemed ok at FOD on the weekend.

My hardtail hasn’t been ridden since the change yet to test that. I think the front genuine pads were contaminated as they never bit as well as the codes on the other bike (ht front Code was a bargain eBay job and had glazed pads when it arrived) so hopefully they’ll be good with the new pads. I know the Guide RE on the back was working great with standard pads which have now got almost down to the backing plate so maybe that’s a better test.

Different issue to yours, but I put some race compound pass in my hope e4s and thy were rubbish, not bite in the wet at all. Ok in the dry. I've gone back to hopes own pads, and think they're worth the extra money.
