Hoping someone (*cough* Loco etc) can give me some advice.
My Lyriks sometimes wind themselves down when I'm riding - ie: they dont stay at full 160mm travel.
The u-turn adjuster feels OK - not too loose or tight, but probably looser than on my Revs. I use the travel adjust occasionally, and would like to keep it (rather than removing it or bodging a cable tie lock).
I've made sure there are 3 ball bearings under the cap and removed most of the grease that was there. Any other suggestions?
I've noticed that this happens less with more slow and high speed compression dialled in, which is sort of understandable, but not a cure.
Thanks, I'll add a couple of ball bearings, seems my thought process was a bit wrong there.
...or I would if I had a couple of those small springs that the bearings sit on.
Can also be the small circlip that holds the top cap on to the shaft (under the cap) which can distort and allow the cap to lift a bit releasing tension on the balls and thus allowing them to wind down.
Thanks. That circlip is pretty small compared with the corresponding one on air Revs. Looks ok though.
I've bodged a fix by putting a thin rubber o-ring under the cap to increase the friction. If that works, I'll know if was a loose top cap issue and can sort it properly.
No probs, the internals wear on the helix inside and become easier to turn sometimes so it maybe a combination of things causing it, have circlips, balls, springs in spares box if you anything
Thanks, cant see any suitable springs on ebay etc, so might get in touch
