since they seem to have been discontinued.
Looking for some replacement trail tires predominantly for the downward direction that; fall apart on contact with rocks. up to about 900 grams each with a decent tread pattern .... summer tires like ardents work for about 15 minutes a year up here .... its either too wet or too loamy for them.
Edit - whats with all the formatting jazz that appears of its own accord these days?
High Roller 2 or Aggressors? Think the Aggressor are a cut down Minion though so might not be any use.
Definitely getting trickier to find good 26" tyres.
high rollers are 2.3 only until you go to the dh casing.
maybe i should just buy a ripmo* instead and solve the 26" tyre issue for good 😀
*in my dreams maybe
Definitely getting trickier to find good 26″ tyres.
This unfortunately. I've been looking for a bit what to get for my HT and nothing is ever in stock now
no issue finding 26 inch tyres. I'm currently using 2.4 projekt barons
Recent Maxxis 2.3s are noticably bigger than old skool 2.35s
infact they're right around old skool 2.5 size.
They're absolutely fine width wise for DH.
there's still far more choice in 26" than 27.5"
My current minions are only 9 months old they have just taken alotof abuse on granite in that time They are a big 2.4 .
A 2.3 is gonna come up small for rock bashing I need all the volume I can get 🙂
On one chunky monkey?
They never made a 26x2.4 Minion - it’s either 2.35 or 2.5”. The newer 2.3 Minion is bigger than the old 2.35, and you can still buy them - nextdaytyres have the 3C Exo in stock.

Well these seem a direct match for the 26*2.4 exos on my bike .
I’ve never seen a 2.4 minion. I’d use DHF 2.5’s, tacky front and hard compound back. Can still get those, though I stocked up last time with several pairs for when they can’t be replaced. 2.4 ardent is my usual rear though. The dhr2 is also a good option.
The WT is designed for wider wheels I thought, might give a slightly odd profile if your wheels are a more regular size.
Dunno about widths because I'm an uncomplicated rider, but I've had a Spesh Butcher/Purgatory combination on my bike for a while now and I've not really come across anything they can't handle, from soaking wet local natural trails to dry and dusty volcanic Canarian epics.
26" x 2.4" DHR2 32 euro each.
I think Continental are still making new 26" tyres. I was going to get some Barons for my DH wheels after the 2018 Mountain King I stuck on the front worked out to be good, plus it's buying stuff from a company that's still making decent 26" bits.
Just out of interest, do those WT Maxxis tyres come up too big for Flow EX wheels?
I have used Conti 2.4 Rubber Queen/Mountain Kings and they come up to a decent size. I have also got some Ardent 2.4s waiting in the wings (stockpiled for extended periods of warm weather).
