Yes its a what tyres thread....
My 10yr old boy has moved up to 26" wheel (XS Giant XTC). I've lightened it up and 10yr old-sized it where I can. Next is tyres.
Looking for advice on a skinny, light, all-rounder that doesn't cost pro racing money. But as I've never used such skinny nobblies I have no idea how they're going to work.
Riding is in-the-woods, Cannock Monkey/FTD, Dalby and Peaks.
There's not much choice out there.
Schwalbe Rocket Rons 1.85. 34% off on CRC so affordable. These are the front runner but some regard these as 'sketchy'?
Maxxis Ignitor 1.95. No idea
Panaracer Fire XC 1.8. Annoyingly they only do 1.8 in wire not folding.
Any help?
One of my kids has some cheap CRC Michelin Dry2's on - and they seem great fast rolling and supply tyres. Yes they do live up to their name - but we seem to have sloppy mud a lot here that does not clog.
Nice round profile as well for confidence.
Fairly light, cheap and fast rolling - WTB tyres from CRC. I bought a pair for my dog-walking bike and they're fine. Again, no good in mud.
