doing an adventure race at cannock chase on sunday.
the route hasnt been released yet, but is it likely to be a total mudfest, or on fireroad/singletrack with a hardpack base?

might need to take the crossmark off the rear....?

unlikely to be a mudfest, it drains pretty quickly.

if it's off piste (depending on location, the chase is quite large) it'll be a sloppy grinding paste mud fest and seeing as adventure racers are usually talentless muppets it'll probably be fire road extreme 😆

Bonty Mud x's - I use no other tyre and ride there at least a couple of times a week. They grip like shit to a blanket in the mud and are very light and fast rolling. Had a fair bit of wind over the Chase over the last couple of days and is drying up a bit, forecast dry tomorrow and wet sunday.

You will be fine with crossmark on rear

I agree. Bought Mud X for elsewhere, but they work well on the Chase. Its well draining at the worst of times on the main trails.

Oh, and dont forget to drop into swinnos for the Permit - usually quite a few FC rangers on the prowel on sundays now since the crackdown!

Its pretty dry apart from big puddly bits, Bonty TLR XR4 TEAM ISSUE ARE THE CURRENT TYRE OF CHAMPIONS. Are adventure racers like more happierer than trailquesters ?

I love it when the ranger's give you an approving nod when they notice your FC car park pass.

Don't forget to take spare rad tyres if you are going down the werewolf.
