Hi
Anyone know of a good repair for a 10mm split in a side wall? Tyre still has otherwise 100's miles of use.

sew it with dental floss

my make used a pasties wrapper to get round climax works for 5 miles but wouldn't recommend for long term

I patched mine up with a cutting of flat plastic(food packaging) and taped it in with duck tape, that worked well enough though the tyres were worn out so only needed last a few rides.

There are products that you glue in place made of thicker rubber.

By the time i've typed this someone should've of posted a link up or gave it's name.

Glue a patch of innertube to the inside. Halfords sell large sheets of patch as well

You might need to sew it up - but 10mm maybe not

If you do sew it up sailmakers needle and waxed dental floss is good ( its strong and pulls thru the tyre easily)

+1 on the dental floss!

Worked for me on a certain bike ride around Kielder 🙂

Stitch with a fine fishing line (I would think that would be more durable than floss. You'll need a darning needle. Then superglue a tough patch on the inside to protect your tube. Superglue in the cut from the outside too. That should do the trick.
