Hi guys
Ok another tyre thread I know, but...
I need some new tyres but only have a low budget. I have narrowed it down to:-
Conti Barons (new but wired and not black chilli) £20 each
Maxxis Minions (new but wired also and single ply) £20 each
or
Schwalbe Hans Dampf - second hand but nearly new - £50 for the pair
I have tubeless ready rims (Easton Haven) so would like to utilise them as I bought some sealent too.
General Calderdale riding with occasional trail centres
Cheers!!

Find another tenner and get some Specialized Butcher Controls? The cheaper Barons aren't great and the Minions are a bit skinny. Hans Dampfs good if the front one is a Trailstar compound but will wear faster than the Butchers.

Keep saying this but I am a convert...

On-one chunky monkey or smorgasbord, great performing great value tyres

Rule out the non-chili Baron, they're made of old leather or something.

Hans Dampfs are alright. I'm with chiefgrooveguru though, or maybe a butcher and a purgatory if you want it a little faster. Not as tough as the minions you were considering though.

I have a smog on the front and it's genuinely awesome.

I've had damf 's for ages and luv em, they run slightly better if the back one is slightly worn so I just buy one ever now and again and swap them round
