I'm sure I saw this on the news page but may have hallucinated it. Anyone know what it is that I'm looking for?

ta

Can't open that link from work. Is it a grey or brown tin?

It was Rotherham Tyres liquid bead lubricant on eBay that I linked to - neither grey nor brown!

Found it:

The Schwalbe stuff is a damn sight cheaper though.

I use something like this.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REMA-TIP-TOP-TYRE-MOUNTING-PASTE-TYRE-SOAP-5KG-AND-PASTE-BRUSH-/181303960600
I originally bought it years ago for fitting Land Rover tyres.
If you are only using it for bicycle tyres, a £14 bucket like that will last several generations.

I've been wondering if any of the 'patent' options are worth springing for.

Until late last year I mounted tyres dry, then discovered 1+4ish washing up liquid which I can't believe I managed without...

Last time I fitted tubeless tyres (last month) I just wet the rim strip with sealant and the tyre beads popped in place OK. Soap is a bit slippier I guess, but sealant is possible. You might as well try.
