I've just installed some Rimpacts in my new hoops and was just wondering if people are finding that they're having to adjust their suspension set up with tyre inserts fitted?

I am using Rock Guards with 28 psi in the back 25 psi in the front and ride in the Lake District, I have gone up a few psi on my Lyrik fork as I feel my speeds descending have got higher since I fitted them, more so on steep rocky trails.

It’s in an interesting point this, if you have ever bounced a wheel With an insert in, it’s amazing the dampening effect.  Therefore I always expected to reduce compression dampening.  Reality was i didn’t.  If anything I slowed my rebound speed slightly.  But would caveat this by saying it may have been something to do with riding in summer temperatures.  Reality is any change was so subtle I didn’t notice.  I would suggest you give them a go first.  More important than suspension adjustment is you lowering your tyre pressures, you simply don’t need the same PSI in a tyre with an insert.

Carpark test does seem to feel like they deaden vibration, I will be trying them out later today in anger..... I run my suspension fairly quick and was just wondering if it deaden the feeling of the rebound. Cheers for the responses guys.

I've got rimpacts in the rear on my Rocket and by Fuel EX, both needed the rebound slowing down slightly.

The extra damping of rock gardens at speed is amazing! Did try them up front but could it made everything a bit dull so I couldn't feel the grip as it were.

Not wanting to up your compression damping rather than screw with your sag point?
