Noticed this on my nearly new road tyre today.

Very similar thing happened to a near ne Gatorskin. However my tube did go flat. The cut was over the 1/3 of the tyre width. I've just binned it, as it remainded me of the previous 3 flat tyres due to a piece of glass that went through the puncture resist belt. What tyre is it? the cut is big and the tyre looks a bit deformed around the cut. Not sure I would want to ride it. I've cut my tyre on either a shapr piece of glass or some metal. Riding along and then instant flat tyre. Went back to see what it was but could not find anything.
deffo bin it
I rode through a load of glass and stones yesterday by accident on the road bike (23c tyres) and expected something similar but thankfully nothing - always keep an eye on nicks in tyres incase something like that ^ happens
Bin it Al, I had that happen on a one ride old conti 4000 black chilli, flippin gutted I was.
Michelin Speediums are rubbish, bin hem and get something decent!
Is it definitely a cut and not a tyre failure? If there's a chance it's the latter then it's worth speaking to the manufacturer.
It's a cut - not down to the fabric, looks OK superglue'd, so I'm gonna try it and see.
schmiken - why?
Turn it into a belt.... 8)
Recycle an' all that
