You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi all, I'd like to pick your brains please.
I'm about to but some new wheels which have rims with 22.5mm internal width. Whats the range of tyre widths that will fit this size rim, i.e 2.2 - 2.6 etc?
Thanks in advance, Naffa.
All the manufacturers have different opinions on this, for example Wtb-Tire-rim-fit-chart
It's a pretty narrow rim, are they something special or a great price?
probably 2.3/2.4 is about the max I'd do, but bigger will just be more rounded.
I think the Stan's chart looked sensible.
Thanks. That chart is useful. Seeing as I want to run 2.8 tyres the wheels Im looking at wont be suitable.
35mm internal width would be the starting point for 2.8mm tyres IMO
Yeah, 30mm internal is the starting point. 2.3 is about the max you’ll find good to ride on 23mm internals.
