I've just spent an hour trying to fit a Blackspire Stinger to my Heckler with an existing Atlas AM chainset. With the right spacer set up (none as it's a 73mm shell) the granny ring bolts catch on the guide. Somehow I seem to have a set of ground chainrings bolts and even with these there isn't enough clearance.
Adding BB spacers doesn't work as this over-compresses the bearings.
Checking around this seems to be a common problem with the Stinger and RF crank so does anyone have a successful dual ring guide set up with an X Type crank and a 73mm shell?
Ta.
Common problem, RF put their granny further in than others, so the stinger wont fit however you do it unless you want to bend a kink into it. Apparently you might just do it if you play about with the special RF spacers. Depends on the frame. Eventually I gave up and changed the cranks, shame as the Atlas are a great crankset.
