yeah leisure lakes sold off all their stock. Guess they'd run their course.

I'm struggling to think of a single decent product they sold.

I had their dark angel bar and stem and some of their 3 piece cranks.

Both weighed more than the sun and moon combined.

I've got their dh bike. Love it and keeping it. Weighs a ton though about 45 lbs at a guess. Steel front, alloy rear. and rides well and is pretty slack. The crank is super well built. Their jump bikes are great for their age too.

The cranks I had -all three attempts weren't welded straight.

The DH bike was brought out just as dh riders woke up and realised that weight was still highly important to downhill performance Wrong place wrong time for that to be released even if it was ludacrously cheap. It rode reasonably well but even when new it was a pig weight.

Yes your right they did make a complete dj3 equipped jump bike that was a bargain and rode really well.

Those bars were hilariously heavy though, I had them on my Timberline, Bommer and Le Toy till Gaz had that deal on cheap Pro-Tapers. What a revelation they were.

They were on my trailstar.

I ended up with gusset pygmys on it far made product.

The 24/7s in hindsight were just 4jeri junk with some fancy etching in the chrome.

Nothing with 8spline /pinch bolt axles was ever going to run true.

Ended up replacing bars with some azonic doublewalls ....they had a decent shape about them. The dark angels were pretty much a straight piece of gas pipe bent into a riser shape. Little or no sweep iirc

But like most of their stuff. Cheap.

On one probably beat them in the race to the bottom.

Ive got one of their dark grey 40mm stems with the 24 machined out in silver, use as a paper weight its that hefty.

I sold the original unused bars and stem on ebay about 1 year ago. Were not that heavy and went easily.

It is amazing what folk on eBay will buy.

I presume you mean the bendy ones and not the welded steel ones?

24/7 slacker was the jump bike they made that was pretty darn good for 700 quid

Was talking about this just the other day weirdly.

Their downhill bike was one of the first proper bikes i bought, from Leisure Lakes in Daventry as it happens.

Absolute beast of a bike. Weighed as much as a small family hatchback. Cost me 1k and had some ok stuff on it that I eventually took onto other bikes.

They were more successful in the dirt jump world.

Their dirt jump stuff was great.
Had some bars that just felt 'right', a stem, and a mate had a DJ frame (DarkAngel?) that he loved and certainly didn't hold back on. I had a hoodie that was one of my favourite ever ones as well 😀

I remember really wanting 24/7 stuff BITD. To my inexperienced MTB eye back then they seemed like affordable Spooky stuff.

Still running some of those cranks on my pub bike. Must have been one of the lucky ones who got a straight set. Strong as, and the truly cosmic weight really helps lower the CoG of the bike!

Probably go fed up of warrentyjng the dark angels (8splines and a pinch bolt)

Also remembered where my bars went.... The slowely bend downwards on the ends. So that's why k swapped. Azonic shorty and double wides.

I gave the stem to trailstar off here for his BMX

Still got the MRP world cup type 1 that came with the crank bundle.

Pretty sure I've still got the bar/stem combo kicking about in my mum's shed, just waiting for the right bike to come along 😛

I had the original v1 Darkangel Frame.

Had two holes for the canti mounts so you could run 24”/26” wheels. I’m sure I saw someone running one with 24” rear, 26” front - the original mullet bike?

I bought mine from Leisure Lakes Bury - it had RSTs forks with the worst top out ever, a long cage road mech installed and no retention on the single chainring!

And it did have the weird scaffold bars!

I think LL just bolted leftover parts on them. Mine has Coil domains on the front and a dhx5 air rear shock. thanks for the photos. Looks like mine kayak. Love it. Fun to ride and thunders downhill.

Original mullet bike was the Spec Bighit.

Many people were throwing 24 inch back wheels at bikes before that for strength ...

But again -another thing we realised was a bad idea before 24/7 decided to release it.

There's a good review on ride.io..(by orge -who could handle a bike....and was no snob....his own bike iirc was pretty much barely holding together) . says yeah it's cheap but the suspension doesn't really work....yes it'll move when you chuck it into a rock garden but it's not tracking the ground.

24 inch rear wheels on downhill bikes were great at hooking up. -brake jack on steroids.

Nah trailstars not on hereno more. He made a brief appearance.mostly Runs and road rides now. Has 3 kids and a high flying job. Hear from him now and again he's keeping well.

It's genuinely funny that you're quoting this when you spent money on an ST-10

No one ever claimed the st10 to have amazing suspension action. And even less that it has a good action in 2019.
