Somehow I've never been in Peebles at the same time as Tweedlove (usually actively avoiding tbf). I'll heading down on Saturday for the demo day, but was wondering how rammed the place is likely to be, and the likelihood of getting parked in the Kingsmeadow car park?

FWIW my wife is booked on for the demo day so we'll be there by around half 8, but I really need to work out what I'm doing as I might try and grab a demo or 2 and will have my own bike with me too. So being close by would be handy to be able to ditch my bike when trying others (in the absence of any bike storage)

Cheers

I last went pre-COVID and parked in the high school car park opposite Hay Lodge Park which is only a few hundred metres from the centre

It'll be very busy. 2 races on plus general punters milling about. 8:30 should be ok for Kingsmeadow though

Peebles isn't that big so wherever you park your destination is not far. I usually park on the main road from the Edinburgh side and walk through the big car park.

Kingsmeadow was rammed with vans last year because the event had insufficient camping facilities. I'd be looking elsewhere.

Pain in the neck of having to do it several times through the day though.

urgh, hadn’t considered vanlife issues

There's a couple of small carparks at the far end of the High Street (western end). Take a right at the roundabout the left immediately after Cocoa Black, one on the left there and the other is just past it on the left over a bridge.

They are pay and display and might have a time limit, but only a minute or so walk from Tweed Green

Arrived 8.30 the last two years and were plenty of spaces in the main one in town.

I park on Tweed Green 😀

@dovebiker the car park opposite Hay Lodge is the primary school.
The high school is on the opposite side of the river, and although it's about a similar distance away it's not a public car park.

Peebles will be rammed this weekend with the Tweedlove and the usual day tripper hordes. You should be OK at 0830 in the main council parking lot on Edinburgh Road. The swimming pool parking is closed at the moment they are using it for construction cabins etc for the building repairs. (That's the one over the wee bridge behind Cocoa Black)
