Yup, riding the short as my mate can't manage the full distance on his bike.
Bit gutted after having the same issue last year and buying a new bike to get better range...

Not doing it but has the course map been released yet? Few mates are planning on riding the Golfie on Sunday and didn't realise this was happening this weekend
It looks like there a no showers at the campsite. Is that correct and is there a nearby stream or similar to bathe in?

Oh yeah if you're travelling on the day, Penicuik high street is closed from about 10am to 3pm on saturday and there's not really any good diversion so best to avoid Penicuik entirely. Take Howgate road B7026 if you're coming from Edinburgh, it's faster anyway.
Luckily field is looking ok so far. Its right on the river, but going in the water would be a very bad idea- its very high right now.
Only Golfie trail affected on sunday will be NYNY and lower Repeat Offender.
