I'm after a short travel trail/race bike, I currently have a HL Turner spot for more burly riding.
I was hoping to find a HL flux as prices are very modest as its a few years old now, but they are really quite rare and there are some fantastic offers on DW frames at the moment.
Has anyone had experience of all the models, inc TNT, who could advise me which model would be most suitable for occasional racing?
Thanks in advance.

I've owned HL and DW flux.
For racing the dw would win hands down, despite the extra 1/2 weight, mainly because of how it climbs. it sits higher in its travel and doesn't squat down, and has a much firmer pedalling feel. descending it felt no better than the HL flux (which probably cornered a bit more confidently, again as it sat lower into its travel) but if you put a 120mm fork on it (which you shouldn't do on the HL i think) - then it becomes a much more capable trail bike and downhill outperforms the HL flux
if it were my money i'd go for the dw again. but they are great handling bikes which ever you go for. quite different from the 5spot IMO but just as fit for the majority of riding each is intended to do.
i miss my fluxes, but got all weightweenies and hardtail fixated....

Agree with all above, nice taut trail bike, frame a little heavy, handles lovely with 120mm forks.

I have a TNT flux that is superb - in contrast to the above comments I like the climbing feel of the TNT which is firm but comfortable at the same time (agreed that all three descend equally the same). In comparison to the DW which i found to be heavy and cumbersome - more of a trail bike that a mid travel race bike. As always this is subjective. Also note that I'm soon to be selling my flux as I'm moving back to a 29er hardtail (which matches my riding now much better) - but happy to discuss in more detail if you want to get a view on the TNT.
