I have a Turner 5 spot, thinking of a change which of the above bikes would you go for? Ilike the 5 spot I have but am thinking of going up a frame size as I have a large and I am about 6ft 4 so was thinking of going xl that's the only reason I am changing really, was thinking of a 29er due to my size but think the 650b is the way to go for me
No first hand experience of the Norco, reviews are great but also seem to highlight the build quality isn't that great. Coming from a Turner I'd find that hard to put up with. I'm also 6'4", had a large HL 5 spot and then got an XL DW spot. That fitted much better and rode great but looked like it had pram wheels. Got an XL Sultan earlier this year, looks in proportion and there isn't really any downside for a rider with my fairly average skill level. So if I was you I'd be choosing between an XL Burner and an XL Sultan
I've got a Spot and Sultan, both same spec. I prefer the Spot for its quick direct handling, the Sultan is by no means slow handling, just not as quick as the Spot.
I'd be going for a Burner when more tyres are available.
bit late to the party, but saw this thread so thought I would comment. have had a sight killer B1 for 3 months, XL size as also 6 ft 4, to date I cannot really fault it, great fit and great do anything trail bike. I have had no build quality issues, and have read a few reviews and have not seen any mention of build quality, would love to know which davosaurusrex was reading? the rockshox forks took time to bed in & some adjusting to get right, but are spot on now, but would be great to compare with the new fox 140mm. The turner burner looks a great bike, I did look at it, but could not get the xl or 2xl at the time - sure you would not go far wrong with either the norco or turner, though i would love to try a turner. 650b is the way forward even for taller riders. the bike tore up my brothers specialized enduro, and my 29 has never been touched since.
