Hi,

Looking at a 5 Spot frame and can't work out what travel is its sweet spot?

What are people running?

Read a few reviews and all differ between 130/40/50

Thanks

Mate of mine runs a marzocchi 55cr on his large 2011 dw. Travel dropped internally to 150. Has no issues with the front end wandering on climbs.

Yeah I think 130mm would be too low.

Have you tried 140 vortex?

no never tried 140mm, the a_c on the revs @150 is only 5mm more than the 'designed for size'

anything less than 150mm would be to steep I think

Ah ok, I was thinking of keeping my 140's but might look to sell and get some 150's.

My 2011 large 5 Spot came with 150mm fox forks but I always found the front too high, espcially climbing, even with the zero rise stem as low as it'll go, so I've spaced them down to 140mm & I love it.

150 Revs are perfecto-mondo on my 2011, with an inset lower bearing race - so no cup underneath.

Climbs better than anything I've ridden, not at all wandery on climbs, and easy to get weight over the front tyre.

Why don't you keep your 140s and see how it rides?

Yeah I think I will. To be honest till I started reading further into I'd not even thought of anything other than 140mm.

Hmmm something to think about there thanks vortex.

Should have plenty of time whilst trying to find the frame.

At the moment I'm collecting it Saturday morning!

It's from funkrodent on here.

It's a barely used 2010 built last year! Wearing full deore groupset hope wheels and 150mm revs.

I had a large before and loved it but it was too small so going for xl this time!!

Nice, I'm hoping a small or medium pops up soon.

I'm 5ft7 and the small (15) seems a bit small.
