the main thing is noise and stability and smoothness

can you go to decathlon and try some out? there is a good range and the decathlon deals on tacx and elite come with mats and risers

i bought a tacx sirius from bike-discount.de as it was £106 delivered and using a yellow pages as a riser, microfibre towels for sweat, a fan and a sufferfest vid - easy to an hour on it with the right tunes and vid

Just ordered the Satori from Decathlon, cant tell you what its like until after Dec 25th !! But others seem to recommend it and at the price including the mat, wheel wedge and dvd, seems a good deal. Just need an old wheel to use for my road bike, so I can use a natty tyre etc.

The ones on ebay look like the Clark one I got from Machine Mart.

It didn't have variable resistance though, so was fairly easy to spin up to full speed even in top gear and got quite noisy but not unbearable. It was also fairly stable and sturdy.

I've ended getting an Elite one second hand that offers a better resistance. (may just be because this one did actually have a remote for adjusting resistance tho)
