Morning, in order to prevent my wife murdering me a turbo has been purchased wahoo snap, so wheel on.
Thought could make up old frame from spares but is proving challenging. Current options are:
Halo twin rail tyre on current full sus (26")
Genesis 650b+ but need new tyre so more outlay.
Strip 2x10 from full sus and put on original intended stiffee frame.
Singlespeed stiffee - will this work on smart turbo?
I have a turbo tyre on way from decathlon for either 26" bike. Keen to get going with it but not sure best option. Would welcome advice in those more knowledgeable.
Cheers,
Niall

Not heard of anyone using a FS on a turbo but no reason why it shouldn't work if the shock is locked out.

The smart turbo will control the resistance so you should be able to use the single speed, just check that the turbo has a reasonable power/resistance range.

Remember to budget for a good fan - I use a Cleva Vacmaster air mover, £65 or so

If you're using a tablet for Zwift/Netflix then a music stand works perfectly to prop it up for very little money and space.

Thanks @whitestone , Wahoo says up to 1500 Watts max power output - assume that's reasonable. Will try full sus later, just to get going then stick ss setup on stiffee when toddler wrangling permits
Cheers, will check out fan.
@impatientbull currently using laptop perched on microwave bottle steriliser perfect height in test setup but may borrow wife's iPad see if works better.

Should be good then. What you need is a range to be able to go from say 80W to 800W without having to change gear (or be able to change gear in the case of SS).

Don't think I've ever put a genuine 1500W out on the turbo! (just checked - it's 750W) Be wary of standing and putting power down on the turbo - the bike's fixed and won't move the way it would out on the road/trail so you could do damage to it or the turbo. I only stand for comfort reasons or if the workout instructions say to.

There's quite a few "how do I start with a turbo" type threads for more tips plus I started the "training mega thread" for more general training ideas. There's also a few Zwift threads and the very long TrainerRoad workout thread. Plenty of reading!
