Hi
I am asking on behalf of a friend here who has a 2018 Turbo Levo Comp, the battery recently got damaged whilst in transit and although working its not perfect.
He is considering getting a new battery however online they are an unbelievable £715!
Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative or somewhere other than Tredz etc he can source one, even a second hand one would do?
Thanks
specialized concept store. go in, explain what has happened, they may be able to do a discount.
damaged how?
Slightly OT but might I inquire as to how it got damage? We use TNT for shipping hundreds of bikes within the UK and they're currently refusing to handle ebikes unless the batteries are removed.
Blame EasyJet, he had the bike boxed up to take to Italy with him and although properly packaged they mis-handled the box.
He removed the battery prior and had it packed toward the front of the frame, it looks as though they have piled god knows what on top and its physically scratched/chipped the battery but it still works however the battery life is suffering he said but at £700+ per battery he might put up with it.
Quality batteries cost a fortune. I'll need a new battery for my Spesh Turbo at some point and they're a huge amount of money. You won't find a cheaper option for your mate's bike as all of the electronics to control the bike are also housed inside the battery.
Guess he will just have to bite the bullet and pay or stick with that one.
He is trying to claim some money from EasyJet but that is unlikely!
Did your mate ask easyJet if he could take an ebike and is that how they told him to pack the battery?
And yeah, Bosch batteries are in the same ballpark!
