After suffering a sudden deflation due to a valve collar being a tad loose, is it advisable to tighten a tubeless valve collar anything more than hand tight?

It appears to me the obvious flaw would be that it would place me in the position of not being able to remove the valve on the trail if I had to, without carrying a pliers-like tool of some description?

Or is there another way.....?

I've never had to, the jizz seals any small leaks

This was a big sudden leak, due to a loosened collar.

I could use locktite above the collar I s'pose...

Tighten hard, with tools. Always carry a Gerber type multi-tool.

Works for me.

Hand *tight* should be ok.

Once, wehen really cold, I've had to resort to using my leatherman to remove the collar but then I am a nancy-fairy-boy.

I used to get some leakage when using the Stan's valves. This led to an ever-increasing tightening torque, eventually shearing off the rubber flange.

I replaced it with a hom-made valve cut out from an inner tube with removable core. Much better.

Just hand-tight works for me (although it's very hand-tight). Conversely to the above poster I actually find the Stan's valve work well, my Roval Traversee's came with Spesh valves and they leaked a fair bit if even touched the valves slightly but changed them to Stan's valves and they been fine since. I also use Stan's valve on another wheelset with Flow rims without any problems.
