Got tubeless rims but normal folding Conti X King tyres, do the benfits of converting these to tubeless outweigh the cons from peoples similar experiences?

Tubeless Contis don't tend to work tubless, not sure I'd want to try non tubeless ones

Agree, the Protection (tubeless ready) version of Continental tyres are bad enough so assuming a non protection would be awful.

The Protection versions can take up to a month to properly seal all the holes and get to the point where they don't need to be inflated every day.

Depends what you consider the cons to be.

If it's difficulty in getting the beads to pop in place, then all you can do is try as it's as much to do with variances in rim circumference as it is the tyre. So if you've already got the rims sealed with tape, just try with some soapy water. If you can't get them to seat with just a track-pump then it's probably not worth the hassle.

Other issue is potentially fragile sidewalls (compared to UST), meaning you'll be hesitant to run them at lower pressure, hence you're not getting much benefit over running tubes.

I've run Conti Protection tyres tubeless. Needed sealant, but they sealed fine from new - only needed to top up air once a month.
