Undecided as to which is 'best'
Tho to be fair I've no complaints with tubes but would like to at least find out if tubeless is something I should ignore or not
Stans,; ust are a bit heavy an there seems to be fewer options. All varieties of tubeless are better than tubes IMHO.
Don't worry about it, both are excellent so pick the individual product you want not the type. There's less good standalone UST rims though, which has meant stans-types have got ahead in the handbuilt wheel area.
Alternatively, pick a tubeless type you like, and be a dick about it 😉 I reckon half the reasons people cite for using or not using a particular method are balls.
ust are are more robust, my crossmax xl are still going strong but i do really like my crests even after a rim replacement.. infact ive never had to replace a rim until i went to stans rim
I've found ust tyres to be a bit more robust than tr while riding rocky stuff like the peaks. However, I've set up plenty of tr tyres for people that have worked perfectly. I also started many year ago converting standard tyres like nevegals.
All on stans flow rims by the way.
oh not sure if we are talking rim or tyres, really like new TR schwalbe snakeskin tyres on stans rims but again ust tyres are tougher/heavier.
I hate the feel of riding tyres with tubes in it really is that noticeable! I also love not repairing tubes every time I get a bike out to ride as locally there are so many thorns on the ground. Only downside is I have a gazillion spare inner tubes now. I have one set of mavic crossmax sx ust, one set of fulcrum red zone ust and one set of hope hopes mavic en:521 set up ghetto. The benefit I feel of ust over ghetto is security on the rims. Can't comment on Stan's set up.

If you were a mate of mine, I'd have to sneak a tube into one of your wheels when you weren't looking to see if you'd notice.
Honestly, I have run the same set of tyres at the same pressure on the same bike tubed and ghetto tubeless. I was a doubter for years myself!
