Hi all
I have some continental mountain king ust on my iodine wheels they seem to be seated ok but still leak air
As I have sprayed soapy water on them
Is there anything. Can do to stop this happening
I am new to the whole tubeless tyres thing
Cheers Steve
Have you poured some sealant in?
Where are they leaking from? Valve? Rim? Tyre? Submerge the tyre/rim in the sink and work your way around until you find the leak. Then you can find the best way of sorting it.
How much psi is lost over night ? Is it definitely the tire rim or could the leak be else where?
Are the rims dented?
Are the rims taped/sealed properly?
Is the valve core tight?
Is the valve seated?
The front is flat in the morning
The valve is fine and the wheels are tubeless crank brother iodine wheels with no dents they are like new
The air is leaking around the rim between the tyre and the rim
Like it is not sealing properly
I have not put any sealant in I did not know you have to
1) Put sealant in & inflate to 40psi
2) Bit of shaky shaky (check out the how-to videos - e.g. on Stans website or everywhere on YouTube)
3) Rest sideways on a bucket (the wheel, not you)
4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 until sealed
Jobs a goodun 😀
Ok I will get some tomorrow got to go over the LBW anyway
Is it puncture sealant or a special tubeless sealer
Cheers Steve
Stans notubes sealant is what you want (or similar)
Also - is the rim sealed? i.e does it have proper tubeless rim tape or just the bog standard rim strip that comes with regular wheels?
do just as Stimpy says. Make sure not to cover over 40 PSI - unless you want to cover yourself and the surrounding area in latex sealant. (been there done that)
