So, set them up tubeless in January and they've been fine since, at least six rides without any issues. Have neglected the bouncer for a month of gravel training for Dirty Reiver and found on Saturday morning the front was entirely dead - could hear the Stans sloshing around so pumped up and agitated the fluid to distribute it, but five pumps later it was still failing to stay up. Mostly seems to be leaking around the valve so I tightened this further (have since read this might be a bad idea).

But here's the weird bit - the rear tyre was still pretty fine, probably about 20PSI... Until this morning, when I noticed it had also lost all pressure in 48 hours!!

Is this just what happens when they're neglected? Planning on pumping another big squirt of stans in there once I've sourced a syringe and tube for sensible prices (c'mon local hardware store!) but wondering if anything else ought to be considered? Not found anything like this on my internet wanderings, but do you know something relevant??

Not sure about the sudden deflation (could be lots of explanations for that)

As far as the syringe is concerned, ask your local vet if they will sell you a couple (worked for me)

Yeah. The clue is in the OP's username. The tyres are possessed.

Sudden change in temperature? It has dropped by about 10*C round here lately...

Sealant drying out? It tends to last around 3 months, you might not be hearing fluid sloshing, it might be "stanimals" rolling about...

I'd bet on the tape failing somewhere around a spoke hole.
You can get big syringes on ebay for not much money.

Mostly seems to be leaking around the valve

Leaks will always appear to come from around the valve.

Probably tape lifting.  Does your rim tape go across the full width of the rim bed?

Get a squirty bottle with a fairy liquid /water mix and spray it around the the whole wheel and check for bubbles.

I have a wheel which was fine for 2 months, but has now started leaking air at the rim join

thanks everyone. Acquired a wee 20ml syringe which works fine in the valve, added 60ml of Stans and spent a while jiggling and spinning and it's fine now! could probably do with retaping the rim but fingers crossed it'll hold - and I carry a tube or two anyway 🙂
