You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
So I've just set my wheels up as tubeless for the first time. Front went up like a dream, but the rear had a little leakage around the valve. The tyre went up in the end and seems to have stopped leaking and the beads definitely popped into the rim with a satisfying ping.
My question is when can I stop being paranoid that I'm going to find my rear tyre flat and be confident its all sealed up?
In the morning?
Makes sense. Fingers crossed and a few hours wait now then I guess.
Also whoever posted the PSA for the planet x tubeless kit last week, thank you very much.
It will defo need some air in the morning - I would also spin the wheels a couple of times over the evening to make sure the gloop is in all the nicks and crannys
Going for a ride, even a short one over a few curbs and patches of grass, will help the tyre settle and seal.
Bear in mind that a leak at the valve can sometimes be from the tape somewhere else around the rim.
Thanks for the advice guys. Wheels spun regularly and it was still holding its air nicely last night so seems to be all good. Can't wait to get out and give it a try now 🙂
First time I set mine up they kept deflating slowly over about 2 days. After a couple of hefty reinflationtions they stopped leaking. Even after leaving the bike in the shed for over a month (off at work) they stayed perfectly pumped.
