I've been running rocket ron performance tyres and have been happy with them. I've since upgraded to tubeless rims and am now wondering if I should get some tubeless tyres for them. Are the rocket ron tubeless tyres a good choice or am I better off with something else? Looking for a fastish all round tyre really for UK riding.

Cheers

Vitoria Barzo are worth a look. I used to use tubeless Ron’s but Barzo feels better all round. I’ve just got some of the graphene 2.0 tan walls. Straight up tubeless.

If you're happy with Rons then stick with them. Also, I've set up a few Schwalbe Performance tyres tubeless with no issues even though they aren't officially tubeless ready.

Ok cheers, interesting to know - did you have to do anything specific to set them up? Thanks

Sorry for conflicting anecdote... But I had nothing but bother when I converted my RR to tubeless.

The rims were decent and tyre seated nicely without too much bother. The issue I had was burping. It frequently just dumped air. Even in uphills!

Got bogged off in the end and just ran it with tubes.

Then converted to Maxxis High Rollers and haven't looked back. Sane rims and pressures.

In fairness, that's only a sample of one, but you did ask!

Didn't do anything specific, other than set them up ghetto style with a split 20" tube, due to them being on an alex rim that had a very deep centre channel that I wasn't confident in taping. I just put some stans sealant in, gave them a shake and rode them.

Rocket Rons felt too fragile too me - always burping as said above.

Finally I got a big rip in one at Swinley that I couldn't fix, so I took them off and have never put them back on.

Just ordered some Nano 2.1's for this summer, let's see how that goes.
